Philippine Free Fire professional team AV Radicals will begin their journey toward world championship carrying the Tier One Entertainment flag, departing for Bangkok, Thailand for the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) happening this 25th to 26th of November 2022.

AV Radicals won the Free Fire Malaysia Cambodia Philippines Sri Lanka (MCPS) S4 tournament after clinching the top spot against 17 international pro teams of the MCPS league and moving on to outplay the top teams during the grand finals. With this championship win, they became the first-ever Philippine champion of the MCPS region and the first Philippine representative to ever compete in the FFWS Finals.

“The moment we were declared champions of the MCPS S4, I couldn’t help but cry, all the time and effort that everyone had invested has paid off. We made history for the Philippines to win as Champions and qualify for the Free Fire World Series in Thailand,” says Carmelice Tomelden, AV Radicals Team Owner.

The lineup for the upcoming FFWS Finals will consist of Coach Apple Wayne “Alice” Tomelden, Team Captain Kyle “Tnamo” Kamura, Sniper Marc “Rmiel” Romero, Rusher Ariel “Wine” Barba, Rusher Jabet “Toohs” Luna, and Support Almira “Pipan” Calipan.

Despite a strong start during the qualifiers till the third week of the league, AV Radicals were tested by the competition, slipping into second place and struggling to mount a bid for the first-place spot. Doubts began to creep in after falling short and being defeated in the previous tournaments the Radicals competed in.

“Mapapatanong ka na lang kung kaya pa ba naming manalo sa grand finals. [We found ourselves questioning each other if we could still win the grand finals]” says Tomelden.

The AV Radicals had to double down and reinforce the skills they’ve garnered to remain consistent, accurate, and able to overcome the competition to become the MCPS S4 Champions.

Team Captain Tnamo had this to say after their win, “Bilang team captain ng AV Radicals, sobrang sarap at nakakaproud sa pakiramdam na marating ang kinaroroonan namin ngayon. Lahat ng paghihirap ay may kapalit. Kung hindi ka nagtagumpay sa una, ‘wag kang susuko. Gawin mong aral ang mga pinagdaanan mo para maging better version ka ng sarili mo. [As the team captain of AV Radicals, I feel good and proud of where we are now as a team. This is the fruit of our hard work. Don’t give up if you failed the first time. Turn your experience into life-long lessons to help you become a better version of yourself.]”

AV Radicals worked their way up towards the world stage from day one being a nobody. Since the first Free Fire Philippines Open to their championship run in the Garena Free Fire MCPS S4, they have indeed come a long way. With The Radicals’ grit, perseverance, and mental fortitude, it wasn’t long before Tier One Entertainment scouted and recognized that the AV Radicals’ winning DNA is aligned with their core values as a premier esports and gaming organization in Asia.

With the decision to back AV Radicals for the FFWS Finals, Tier One Entertainment continues to position itself at the forefront of providing support to top-tier esports athletes as a world-class destination for mobile esports teams.
